John,
You and I share very similar experiences and appreciation for John Browning's masterpiece. I have one that is historically significant. It was carried by LTC. Leon Rollman, the first American to enter Yokohama and Tokyo after the cease fire in Aug-Sept 1945. Its a late 1943 production Colt in unfired condition with a Scovile mag and the original holster. Rollman's notarized statement about the piece says he carried the piece in his musette bag wrapped in oil cloth throughout the war. I have the musette bag also. Am trying to find a home for it to bank roll some recent Luger acquisitions. Interesting piece with impeccable provenance. Tom A. |
