Thor, it should act just like a webpage, if you click on the webpage above, then go through each page, it should bring them up?

What are you seeing or can't see?

Empty boxes on all? Or where I haven't gotten pics yet?

There are lots of blanks, mainly because I haven't gotten all the pics I'd like or do the pics show up as blank (no pic)?

I see the page, the thumbnails are all empty except a rectangle outline. Send me your email and I will take a picture of what I see.

Ed -

Just found your "web page" for the suffix pictures.

What a great idea ! ! !

This is a far better reference than any printed set of lower script letters.

Thanks,
Luke

Thanks Luke, it was something I had thought about a while ago, then just did it.

As you can see, still missing suffixes, but the response has been good, so I imagine we will fill those holes!

I still need "c" "L" "m" "p" "s" "w" or "z" suffixes, and have only one for several others. To get a good representation, I think you need at least five or six of each letter.

If you can scan in or take pictures of these needed suffixes, that would be great.

I have a lower case script "p" from my first Luger, a 1941 byf. When I first bought the Luger I thought it was "n" but several members helped me determine that it was a "p" instead.

It is located at:

If that is a "P", then a photo essay is important, because I would not think that was a "P"!

We will see if we can drum up a few other "p"'s and compare them,

Thanks Luke, Ed

Thumbs up

Ed, it's a "P". That one is tough, but there are enough references around that verifies it (Costanzo and G¶rtz to name two).

I believed Luke, it is just wild looking! I must have missed or more likely forgotton the posting on the "P".

Frank any P's in your corral of Lugers for a comparassion?

And this is kind of fun, learning a lot doing this,

Ed

The Z is the hardest script I have ever had to identify! I had a late Mauser (sold it to Sid Gariss) and that sucker had me stumped for a while.

Edward, I have the 40 42 code Luger that Thor was talking about, I just do not have a way of getting a photo for you. I will see if I can find someone with a digital camera and try to get it to you. The only place that I can get to a flat bed scanner is at work. My boss is already a little worried that I catch up with the forum at lunch time and I do not think that it would be a good idea to show up at work with it. I will see what I can do. The set up you created is very nice. Thanks for the hard work and effort. Thor, I figured you would remember that z. It did take a while to figure that one out.
Sid.

Ed,
* FWIW - did some Forum browsing & came up with:
(1) P.08 Military Category: Hugh(Member #15) posted his 1936, S/42 with a good photo of his "n" block pistol and mag. If he'd concur to its use, it would make a good counterpoint to the "p" suffix photo. Thread title was "They come in pairs" started 2/27/03.
(2) Same category: John F.(Member #766) had a "q" block 41/byf posted. Interesting cause a DDR "X" had been super-imposed in the near vacinity. With John F.'s concurrence, we have a "q"
(3) "Navy Lugers" Category: John F. (Member #766) also had a "z" block 1939/42 Navy posted in the thread "Mauser 42 Kriegsmarine Marked Luger" started 1/7/03. Little blurry; but with John F.'s concurrence & a little cropping we may have a "z" pistol picture to include.
(4) BTW; the same Navy post had Hugh offer a single pic containing 3 Mauser Military mags from the "x", "p", & "v" blocks. I believe these are 1937-S/42, probably a 1939/42, and another later 1939/42 respectively.
(5) "New Member Forum" category: Ted G (Member #819) had a 1914 with a "b" block picture. Thread titled "Second round" & started 1/01/03.
(6) "P.08 Commercial" Category: Kidvett posted a 1920 commercial (Weimar Alpha-DWM) with great "n" block frame pics. If the barrel's "n" doesn't start a war with Luke's "p" above, there is a Weimar DWM 'n" block pic. with Kidvett's concurrence. Thread titled "No Export 1920 Commercial" started 3/12/03.
* Hope this helps.
