I have never seen this gentlemans work, but once while reading Reeses book, I decided to do a crazy thing and I called John out of the blue. What a delightful man. I was a Luger newbie and he didn't know me from beans but he talked to me for three quarters of an hour about Lugers. What a class person. He sent me a personal letter and an application for a French Luger book that was about to come out and I still have that note. He also invited me to his shooting range for some shooting relaxation. John is right up there with Fred Bear of archery fame who I was fortunate enough to meet once. A suggestion by me would be that if something unsuspected happened to him, we should put a picture of him on the 'Luger of the Month' with a small note telling of his accomplishments. It would be a fitting tribute to a real gentleman.
