Post Nice grouping on auction arms

http://www.auctionarms.com/search/di...temnum=6221906

This is nice, but not worth 3K to me... Maybe 1/2 that, or is the helmet worth a lot more?

Extremely spurious. I don't want to step on toes, however, I could dig into... flea market and create this. Now people are goig to go off! The helmet is nice it might have value that wipes my opinion away. I still think spurious.

I agree with ED about 1/2 the price

someone messed up what looked to be a good holster

I like the part "UNUSUAL SERIAL #"

whats so unusal ???? maybe I'm missing something
I know its in the L block which makes it somewhat more scarce, but there is no mention of that in the ser# discription.

1314, unusual cuz it is like 1+3 equals 4, uh, plus 1 equals, uh.... Maybe it is uh, Rare, yes, that is it, it is a rare lugar item!!

And kind of like what GW said, I think the other items are nice, no real provinance, but they could just as easily been picked up off of e-bay and then put together as a "rig". An old auction sheet or something would be nice?

I also find it odd when a seller says;
quote:
I WILL LIST ALL OF THE ITEMS BUT WILL GIVE A COMPLETE DESCRIPTION OF THE LUGER ONLY.. TO SAVE SPACE...

Save space? Why?? More info is a heck of a lot better than less when trying to sell something? I have found that a few more pictures and extra description adds about a 1/3 more value to an item on gunboards or e-bay...

For a short time I collected WW2 period German steel helmets and I saw crazy that market became. That helmet, assuming it's legit, is worth about as much as the pistol.

I showed that auction to a guy who WOULD know the value. He says the helmet is worth $350 TOPS and the only piece that is somewhat valuable is the regimental stein. But even so the sum of the pieces is still less than $2000.
