Post Your opinion, please.

The expertise of Luger collecting, aquiring, gathering, or just a simple "I've always wanted one" information available on this medium varies from the rarely heard from experts to the lowly bottom feeder shooter types like me who say entirely too much too often. But being that human nature has always been that the least educated tend to be the loudest and most frequent to give voice to a matter in which they know nothing about, (you can measure intelligence, stupidity is limitless) I'll once again clearly reveal my inclination toward the unmeasurable group with the most options and ask an opinion.

Out of X number of Lugers available for sale at any time/place, what percentage do you think the seller is either:

a: Completely ignorant of the item
b: Completely ignorant and malicious in misrepresentation
c: Semi ignorant, non malicious
d: Semi ignorant, malicious
e: Informed moderately but not misrepresenting
f: Informed moderately and misrepresenting
g: Well informed and honest
h: Well informed and misrepresenting item
i: Expert, honest
j: Expert, semi honest
k: Expert and misrepresenting item

If possible please provide specific examples. No names please. And in which category do you place yourself? I'm a solid "C". Later, ya'll. <img border="0" alt="[bigbye]" title="" src="graemlins/xyxwave.gif" />

RK, a "G" aiming for "I". Obviously!

I think the average gun seller who happens across a luger is "A", and does their best, but asks the high end of the blue book or what someone has told him, or what he has seen at the gun show in years past.

So;

50% is a: Completely ignorant of the item
5% is d: Semi ignorant, malicious
15% is e: Informed moderately but not misrepresenting
10% is f: Informed moderately and misrepresenting
10% is g: Well informed and honest
2% is h: Well informed and misrepresenting item
3% is i: Expert, honest
3% is j: Expert, semi honest
2% is k: Expert and misrepresenting item

I don't fit any of the above categories on grounds that I haven't sold a Luger in years. But if push came to shove I'd probably land in e.

In my area at about 3 gun shows we have 1 c, 1 d, 3 e's, 1 h, and that's about it. Not a large enough sample to draw any conclusions except that there are some out there who will try to take advantage and some who don't.
