While making your plans, keep in mind the $200 tax on the transfer of an automatic firearm is a federal thing. The state laws vary from state to state. For example, here in Iowa, civilian possesion of an automatic firearm is frowned upon by the powers that be. On the other hand, I am given to understand it's permissible in Texas.

In the People's Republik of Kalifornia Dan Wesson revolvers are sold with the self cocking strut removed. The strut is kept at the Dan Wesson factory in case you have sense enough to leave Kalifornia.
