Red face

Pete, I've heard his name before, almost bought his book and just haven't. I don't have any good holsters, so haven't sprung for those kind of books yet.

I have heard good here if I remember right.

A search of the archive showed 20 references to Whittington?

Whittington's book are a definite must if you are into the pistols of the Third Reich period. Bob has done an excellent job of giving us general information on most of these pistols. He does nto go into detail on each one, but enough information so that particular pistol can be identified and recognized.

As Mr. Still stated, Vol 1 & II are the best. Vol. III deals with holsters for those pistols, and Vol. IV deals with the KsTN or the distribution of equipment and arms for the German Army. The 4th vol. is very boring reading, but worth having too.

Definetly worth adding to yur library.

FWIW, I've found that the best all-around search engine for books is http://www.abebooks.com

Searching for "Whittington III", I had 8 hits including one reprinted set of four volumes for $199.00. Another set of earlier, original, volumes is offered for $500.

Wink

And don't forget that Rober Whittington is the Great-Great-Great-Great-Great-Great-Great-Great-Great-Great-Great-Great-Great-Great-Great-Great-Great-Great-Great-Great-Great-Great-Great-Great-Great-Great-Great-Great-Great-Great- Great-Great-Grandson of Dick Whittington (he with the cat), four times Lord Mayor of London.

It's important to make sure we don't forget these details.
