Reconditon Soft holster

Is there any way to bring back the stiffness to an old holster. Its a 1920 Navy commercial, and bottom end, being longer, is soft. Viagra paste doesn't work. O.K, I couldn't resist; or figure how to phrase this, so let it begin!

It seems to me that anytime I have had the misfortune to get some nice leather wet, it always gets dried into a very hard material that has made it pretty useless for it's intended purpose.

In the area of collectible holsters, I can't imagine an economic way to accomplish this and have the holster look like you wanted it to look.

If money were no object, and loss of the experimental holster would not be a tragedy...I would think that if you had a correctly sized form to put into the holster, and one to shape the outside that you could soak it really well with clear water and then put it into your "drying mold" until the moisture content was back to zero... I would think it would be "hard" again... but I sure would like to hear Jerry Burney's (lugerholsterrepair) opinion on this theory...

Frank, I tried to clean some crud off of an old POS holster with denatured alcohol. It did'nt work , but the leather is as stiff as can be now.
Try it sparingly,and it might work. I saturated the holster with it.
