markm3, we need to discuss strategy. A bidder, if he is serious about purchasing an item, should not let the world know that any object is desirable. It would be best if the pistol fetches absolutely no bid. Then the unwashed masses will think that there is something wrong with the item and will be afraid to bid on a piece of junk. The time to bid (if you want to buy) is the last 30 minutes before the auction expires. Everything else is flatulating around.

Wes:

Sssh.....I know the strategy already. Since it is already out there, courtesy of Ed's timely note, I decided to do a little double reverse, rope a dope. By indicating I had bid on it, I thought I'd see if everyone was gonna be nice and gentlemanly and let me have it.

Well, it was worth a try, wasn't it?!
