All,

There are a number of things wrong with this group; perhaps the biggest and all inclusive flaw is that it is a mix of indigenous and German produced piece parts. The "indigenous" pieces closely resemble the goatskin stuff that has been coming out of Pakistan for the last 20 years or so. In a word, bogus.

Having owned an exceptionally nice example many years ago, I can tell the group that the *original* holsters and mag carriers were of the highest quality German cowhide, very thick and nicely tanned to a cigarette tobacco color. The mag pouch was also very similar to the old favorite with a tear shaped strap attached midway to the body, NOT the full length strap as depicted.

Lastly, I have grave doubts about the lanyard. It appears to be a Portuguese contract lanyard from the 1943-44 period. I have no recollection of lanyards being part of the Iranian contract. Perhaps someone can set me straight on this.
