The british mark their military equipment W^D for "War Department", the Australian's use the marking D^D for "Defence Department".

"Dad and Dave" are a series of comical stories set on a small selection in the Australian Outback, nothing much seems to go right for this crew.

Australian soldiers habitually refer to the D^D marking on their government issue kit as the "Dad and Dave Industries" marking.
