My thanks.! And as well - I believe you may be reading my personal notes over my shoulder!! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" />

There is much to this story, but in the meantime - your conclusions are well thought out and presented... To that point....

As you know - there are several items that Krieghoff has been very quiet about in the post-war years. Exact locations in Suhl, especially regarding the main plant, has been one - along with several other salient points.

I am not certain whether it is in the US Archive, or in the Russian archive (and I'll check for those papers) that the HK Main Plant was the largest captured in Suhl/Heinrichs. From that notation - and given the HK workforce at that facility (employees and additional forced laborers), I believe that archival note is accurate..

Second - the Main plant was expanded after it's initial "construction" (Simson acquisition?). I believe you will find that the Simson facility encompassed what was known a block "A" and building "C". There also exist comments about changing the "manufacturing process" to achieve a lower rejection rate and higher parts inter-changability.

Further - you are exactly correct - "Gustloff" are the remains of the Simson company - their most successful product while under control of the DDR was the motor scooter, as you know.

In so far as the number of "Post War" Krieghoff's, please be patient for a bit, as I need to write up my theory and analysis on that subject. I'll do that when I have some time to organize my notes as well, but those too â?? will be well researched and open to discussionâ?¦.

Again - excellent follow-on commentary and analysis, Gerben..!

My thanks for that!
