I bought my first Luger today and I’ve been wanting one for some time. I’m no expert and I am just hoping I didn’t get hosed. Spent $1,500 on it. From what I’ve seen (and was told) it’s an early 1908 production as indicated by the 7039a serial number and the lack of a stock attachment as well as no date on the receiver. It was later reworked into a police gun and the barrel is marked with the Berlin Police PTV Eagle. Overall seems like a good gun and is solid. I wanted one as a collector piece and a shooter. I’m happy with it.

Looks like a nice post 1920 Police luger (see lower left area on the chart below)
Probably made up of parts from an much earlier DWM luger frame. Price wise, I think you did well. See the FAQs on the upper menu bar. Chart is from Weimar Lugers by Jan C Still, p 15 |
