Why would a 1917/1920 Erfurt rework not have a hold open or stock lug?

Stock lugs weren't on ALL the 1913 Erfurts, started around the end of 1913. The hold open, well, it "should" have one?

If the stock lug was not ground off, then the frame was not originally issued with the dated receiver. Either an armorer's replacement or a later refit. I used to own a 1914 chamber dated Erfurt with a 1917 frame, all matching serials including the magazine--with one proof mark on the wooden bottom. The receiver was notched to accept the LP08 rear sight as well. Was numbered in the "q" suffix series, so obviously NOT a true 1914.

My guess would be that it has an '08 frame and a '14 barrel/receiver dated 1917/1920.

Read the description carefully. The seller states quite clearly: "All operating mechanism one serial number. Frame number no match."
