Sometimes a gun is just "too good". I prefer a little honest wear myself.

I saw pictures of a byf the other day, was told it was a refinish and it didn't look like it to me.
Also, many years ago Bill Munis would show me a handful of lugers, all the same timeframe and ask, which one has been refinished. I always got the answer wrong (none had been refinished). |

This Luger is refinished. It has had metal remover blurring the proofs. The Sideplate serial number font looks off to me, and the area within the toggle ears has been over smoothed, a common error with refinishers.
WW2 Lugers are not something I am really up on, but I think I would walk away from this if it is over 1200 bucks, shipped. |

Ok, heres the deal!
All the input so far is relevant, and all has merit. It is obvious that when viewed thru different eyes we have different opinions. The truth of the matter is the pictures are simply not of the quality to make a definitive assessment. The pictures lack focus, quality and clarity, most importantly, color? Not to mention they cover everything but what is needed. We have all purchased one thing, something, at one time or another, that, was very different once we had it in hand. Soooo, I'll even go one step further, we will not know the true condition of this example until someone with some serious knowledge, views this gun in direct bright sunlight? Best, til.....lat'r.....GT....
On Gun Broker, this same gun has 61 bids and is just shy of $4500.00, I just now saw it on GB, 6 hours left.... |

What did it supposedly sell for? Does not look like a $4500 gun to me.

My vote is that the gun is refinished. Not even a matching magazine.

Let's say it is not refinished and is a legit example. Is it worth $4,000?
