G2,

South Carolina is similar in process. I fill out the 4473 and show them my CWP, then walk out the door as the CWP is the background check.

That's how it works in Texas and 5 surrounding states that honor our Texas CWP.

I only had trouble in Arkansas, but that was a just a very grumpy gun dealer who didn't know state laws had changed. Not every one keeps up.

Alaska is a little different about the permit scheme. It is not required to have one to carry a concealed handgun, as we are a "right to carry" state. However, the state will still issue a permit. Two types are available. "NON NICS exempt", which is only good for carrying a handgun, and recognized by several other states as well. The other, "NICS exempt", gives you all the benefits of the NON type, plus covers your background check requirements when buying a firearm within the state.

Correction, Governments are on the path to eradicate their citizens. Gun confiscation = Genocide, proven many times. Shall NOT be infringed. Righhtt.
