Thumbs down unbelieveable!!!

Our (descriptive adjective deleted by admin-JS) gouvernment (who for devil voted for them????) made a new law that all required guns have to be destroyed!!! Also collector-guns!!! In the past collectors could buy those guns and put a lot of money into their empty accounts. In germany only 0,03% of all commits were done with regular guns. And those are punished by law. They have nothing in their head. I have been on my authority today and what was standing there??? A Gewehr 88 and a K 98 K S/42 K-date (1934) in original top-condition, allmatching numbers. I asked for them to buy and they sayed: Last month yes, but now not more, they will be destroyed, because our government made such a (descriptive adjective deleted by admin-JS) law. But they will receive their bill. <img border="0" alt="[grrrrrrr]" title="" src="graemlins/cussing.gif" /> <img border="0" alt="[grrrrrrr]" title="" src="graemlins/cussing.gif" /> <img border="0" alt="[grrrrrrr]" title="" src="graemlins/cussing.gif" />

Hi Dieter,
That's terrible. It sounds as if you now have the same kind of laws as we have here in the UK. In fact it must be worse as we can still legally own rifles with a permit and with another special permit collectors can own pistols made before 1918 - although they cannot own ammunition or fire them.
This will cost the German government a fortune in compensation payments. The argument about gun crime is absurd - no drug dealing mafioso is going to start a shoot out with an old collector grade Luger, when he can buy a mini-uzi or a SIG on any street corner.
You have my condolences,
Best regards,
John

Hi jamese and John, thanks for your answers. John, i own rifles and handguns and i am permitted to buy ammo and to shoot them, that's no problem. I could not believe, that nice and valueful guns are destroyed, they are not reproduceable, historic important. It's for me the same as they trush old cars or motorcycles. If i have (and i do so) the permission to own rifles and handguns, why should i not be able to buy required ones??? Why have they to be destroyed??? If i buy one at my gun-shop, it's ok. Why not from the police??? Jamese, you could not have one screw! The full gun (incl. cleaning-rod) will be destroyed. Bull****. <img border="0" alt="[soapbox]" title="" src="graemlins/soapbox.gif" />

Hi, the same problem over here, when my father died 4 years ago, I had to declare all his weapons (stg44, k98, luger, beretta, ak47 etc...)
it took me 3 years to get a license for only two of these weapons, the 1917 DWM Luger and a 1900 Browning pistol, the other guns had to be left to be destroyed, altough my father was a collector as I am. This shows how sad current government acts in Europe, Wish I lived in the States. Anyway, I'm happy to be able to save the Luger, and I take care of it as it was my own child.

Remember, its not about "gun control", its about "people control."

Gun control people can "take out" one kind of gun at a time...Saturday Night Specials, Assault Rifles, Scoped rifles, historical rifles...pretty soon only single shot shotguns are left...and who can resist--more importantly, who would resist a tyranny with such a "weapon"???

What I think is happening--in the US, as well as the rest of the world--is a planned disarmament of the PEOPLE by the governments...and for what?

Can you say "New World Order"???

Today I spoke to a friend in Germany who told me that those collectors who have a collectors license from the state will not be affected. However, nobody knows what will happen on a day-to-day basis.

To our friends in the "old Europe" I say, come with us to Iraq and we'll show you how to deal with tyrants.

Your governments are YOUR governments chosen by the people.

Hi george, yes, you're right, someone chose that government, i don't know who??? Silly make-the world-better-idiots! Against all!!!, esp. guns and violence, also the war (coming next ) against the iraq. But those amateurs got their bill: - 10% at the last votes, they won't last long times. Than we here in germany have the chance to heal our sores with other nations <img border="0" alt="[cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/beerchug.gif" /> caused by that **** government.

What Dieter means is that firearms having been seized by authorities because of illegal possession, crimes committed, whatsoever will be destroyed rather than being sold to permit holders.
He's right that we have a pretty (descriptive adjective deleted by admin-JS) law becoming effective on 4/1, but it ain't as bad as Dieter's post suggests, probably due to translation.

JurgenG,

Perhaps so. But it is a slippery slope.
