It seems the chamber crests came out better on one than the other. Etching was a manual process and some were shallower than others.

As far as I'm aware there are no decent records on re-used (or obliterated) serial numbers.

I did ask the seller on GB twice for better photos no reply so far.

Regarding serial numbers that may have been reworked, offhand it seems like regular Interarms 9mm pistol serial numbers peter out around 144xx, most with FBM proofs but some having Euro proofs dated 73. The next I recall is 152xx with HK (79) date code.

(Anyone with a green hang tag to spare?)
