Hello to everyone,
I came across an interesting 4 inch Military type pistol. It is curious to me and I'd like some help on ID...here it goes: 1914 dated ERFURT with a recessed receiver ( slot on top for the Arty sight ) 4 inch bbl: SIMSON E/6 Proof on left side & PTV Eagle ( no 29 tech. data ) on right side Matching pistol with usual ERFURT Proofs & non match Breechblock with Eagle/ Swatiska Firing Proof ( III Reich era ) Reblued EXCEPT receiver ( curious ?? ) NO sear safety & NO Rework Proofs SE 37 blued rolled mag ( not matching ) Could it be an early Nazi rework or a SIMSON rework?? Or simply a mismatched common shooter Thank you kidvett

1. 1914 Erfurt - hard to find date
2. 1914 Erfurt recessed for artillery barrel - most were. 3. Simson E/6 rework after 1925. 4. Unusual marks like Crown over R/C found on most Erfurts. long story. 5. rework, reblued or restored? 6. 122 or fxo magazine came after 1940. 7. Obviously a Simson rework. mismatch parts came later. 8. that's all I can tell you. I only read the books, can't tell you much more unless you ask about Crown over RC. Good Luck D D |
