Repairing holsters

I just got a holster for my Luger, but the strap that buckles it closed has some damage, half-torn through at the hole where it naturally buckles.

I'm really out of my depth with this sort of thing... I study guns & ammo, not so much accessories and leather/cloth militaria. Is it "worth it" to have it professionally repaired, or is it one of those things that's just better to leave it alone?

I don't have any intentions of using or wearing it, just wanted one to keep with the pistol.

Yep. Definitely. Reach out to Jerry Burney aka lugerholsterrepair. He’s very good, fairly priced and affordable, and fast. He just did a couple of holsters for me, and has done a ton for the guys here on the forum.

Jerry's work is quite amazing and reasonable. And for a guy who can't decide where to live he's a great guy. Bill

Jerry Burney takes Luger holster repair to a whole nother level! I've not met his equal??? It's like having a German saddler at your fingertips! ….

Can confirm the above. Had a rough looking 1938 holster and he made it look like I took it right from the leather shop in Germany.
