Default Darth Vader's PO8

Cleaning out old email, found this posting elsewhere about James Earl Jones' VOPO (?) G-dated Mauser
https://www.reddit.com/r/guns/commen...civilized_age/

I know nothing more about it, and since the topic didn't show up being posted prior I figured some of you folks would be amused.

About a yr and half ago, one of the guys bought a luger from Checkpoint Charlies and stated it was from James Earl Jones collection. Several older collectors said that it was kinda a secret and it was hushed up. But since then I have seen Charlie Justman (checkpoint Charlie) telling folks about the collection being sold and you could get a letter stating it was from him. Once word gets out on the internet, its not exactly a secret.... And like I said, that was well over a year ago and Justman had been selling items from a large collection of Jones for a while.

Mr. Jones middle name is/was "Earl".
Not Erol or Early.

The word from Charlie was, it was a pretty open secret. JEJ didn't talk about it, on the website it only said that the guns "had provenance." Charlie was open about it at a gun show or if you called him--I might even say "gleeful"--but 'the trade' is pretty insulated from the kind of folks that might make a fuss.

Yes, the actor who portrayed Darth Vader.
The real DV didn't own a luger, preferring a "lighter" weapon.

Charlie had a few guns that were from the James Earl Jones collection for sale at the Louisville Kentucky show in February. He said he had sold quite a few before that. He didn't mention anything about it being a secret.
