1918 Erfurt Unit Marked Luger

Have here finally to show a 1918 Erfurt all matching luger with matching magazine. I am being offered this, what is the value in your opinions with it being unit marked?

Last group. Only thing I noticed that needs to be replaced is the firing pin spring. Owner got it from a gun show and has been in his safe for years.

Congrats.
You have a decent looking matching Erfurt including the magazine- and marked to boot.

You will have to satisfy your own curiosity about its "value", everyone who sees it will have a different opinion.

If you want to throw out the offer price, it will be a lot easier to get "that's good or not so good" input on the price.

Unusual to say the least to find a late war dated 1918 military Luger with unit markings. While not unheard of, they generally ceased marking Lugers with units by 1916.
Nice looking Erfurt. I would also like to inquire abut the asking rice

Gave me an update on the price said he would want $1200 for it, which I think is a fair price seeing how this is a unique luger and have always wanted a nice Erfurt in my collection. Only thing I need to get is a firing pin spring.

$1200 seems as if it would be a very fair price given the characteristics of the pistol and would be something I would pounce on if I were you. An all original WW1, unit marked pistol with matching magazine has serious collector value

Just called him and will be buying it next week. I could tell he for sure wants it to go to a good home. Thank you to George. By the way has anyone read the PISTOLE PARABELLUM - History of the "Luger System" was looking for a good overview on the history of the luger and I have read books from Collector's Grade. Never been disappointed with their books. Would you all recommend this book or something else?

Hi Sean,
"Pistole Parabellum" has been replaced by "Borchardt & Luger" by Simpson Publishing (it's a long story). They're both excellent sets. If you're a book person, as I am, you'll prefer "Pistole Parabellum", if you're a digital kind of guy, get the newer set. You can't go far wrong either way. Since you seem to be into unit marked guns the book to get is "Imperial Lugers" by Jan C. Still if you can afford it, it's out of print and very expensive.

Looks like "The Chip" is cracked , perhaps repaired with original piece? If so , that detail would not slow me down a bit.
Don't know how you came by the opportunity , but early congratulations.
