Alfred,
I took this pictures out of an armorers book from 1944. The RG 34 is a cleaning kit for general use. The firs Picture is showing the different guns describet for that kit. The tool You are asking about is for cleaning the chamber of the 98k. The peak on the other side is for opening the cardridge box in front of the drigger guard. Excuse my bad English. The book is for Police issue, where Police officers are told to use a special muzzle protector by using the cleaning chain when cleaning Lugers. The same cleaning box exist for 5.6mm conversion cits, but without that tool. This Kind of kleaning kits where still in Police use today. The WW2 types are marked with the eagle and the code of producers. The oil bottles exist in 1 type: all steel, second type: brown/red bakelite, third type: black plastic. Regards Roland ![]() ![]() |
