We are talking about many uses of MMO , some non-gunrelated , so here I go ---
I own a 54 year old sailboat which has a nice old flat head 4 cylinder gas auxiliary engine , it is an Atomic 4. Long out of production , thousands still in service. There is a company that exists for the sole purpose of servicing and perpetuating the Atomic 4 , that company is Moyer Marine. Moyer Marine lives and breaths Atomic 4. The experts at Moyer Marine swear by Marvel Mystery Oil. It is used as an oil additive , fuel additive , fogging medium for end of season engine "pickeling" , soaking and freeing stuck valves. I am a MMO devotee , although I have not used the product on firearms to date. Now that the subject is up , I may consider it though. |

I found this on Wikipedia. An NTSB test in 2003 concluded that MMO is composed of 74% mineral oil, 25% Stoddard solvent and 1% lard.
There, so it is no longer a mystery. I just want to know if the lard is Crisco brand or Sam's Choice.
