Default First Issue DWM Military P 08

An early and very nice condition DWM P 08 from 1908-9; before they were marked with a year date. Serial 7268, matching except grips and magazine.

A real survivor; must have been "stolen" early in its life.
Now the earliest military luger in my collection; sure wish this one could tell its story.

Did not receive the hold open modification, and no unit markings.
Shows the beautiful fit and finish , inside and out, of those un-hurried years before WWI. Note the "gamma" final inspection in the frame well, similar to commercial pistols of the same era.

Nice looking gun Don, since it hasn't been retrofitted with a hold-open it should still have it's original 5mm 100meter front sight blade. As you know, only the Bavarian and Württemburg issued guns missed out on the upgrades.
Regards, Norm

Thanks Norm, I'd forgotten the sight "secret"; just measured it and it measure 4.80mm.

Yes, likely a Bavarian or Wuerttemburger luger, or just one that got missed.
