OK, today I called IRA and got the skinny - to save the $200+ I should have signed up for the phone service. I could watch the auction on the internet and they would call me just before my item came up on the block. I would place my bid and either raise my bid or dropout for no fee. Like I said this thread was for people to learn about auctions - I learned how to save a couple of hundred. In the future I will not click on the bid button but just tell the person on the other end of the line my intentions...............
