That serial number, 8862, appears on the list twice! Both entries also list the guns as unit marked. This piece on the auction is not unit marked, so are there three Navys with the same serial number? Hope Norm chimes in on this one.
Ron Woops, just took a second look. It is a short frame gun with no grip safety, and the photo captions say it is 1917 dated...I shouldn't have posted in haste as I only looked at the serial numbers on the list and only looked at the 1906 entries. It is not on Norm's list.
