It a police unit marking from around 1932 Landjägerei Liegnitz wafffen (weapon) 76

It likely has a sear safety (see FAQ for pictures of the sear safety)

Thanks guys! Do you think this gun was put into service by the wiermacht or volkstrom? It's possible he snagged it from a smokey as he himself was a mp...what do you think?
