Cool HI Power.

If I wasn't prepping for a colonoscopy today. I'd get my newly acquired book, "FN Browning Pistols" by Anthony Vandelinden, and try to post like I know something about it.

But, alas I am too preoccupied and will wait to hear from others.

Eugen, pour yourself another quart and then go sit in the "little room".

I will suggest to the OP to go over to the 1911 Forum, and the Hi Power subforum with these photos and questions. There are some really well informed HP folks over there.....I am not one of them, unfortunately!!

Me neither... And I'm yet to buy my first GP 35 (JMB fan here).

Default Unusual HP

Judging by the four digit serial number, this could prossibly have been a pre-occupation gun and just never got the full treatment of the guns that were being assembled by the occupation folks. A lot of strange things went on during this time period with the manufacturing of firearms and the identifying marks that were being applied.
I have a five digit and a six digit HP and neither have the slot but do have the waffenampts. Perhaps they didn't slot the occupation guns, I've seen several wartime HPs.but none that were slotted except for the Canadian versions.
It is an interesting anomaly, but perhaps someone will know the facts.
