The workers there en masse simply refused to cooperate with the Germans in any significant way, and the Germans feared deliberate sabotage of and damage to any arms and ammo made there (and the ammo made in Uzice) so much, that both the Kragujevac and Uzice works were all but idle during 1941-45. |
