Hi John,
"The Navy List" differs from most bare bones Luger data bases, that are little more than lists of serial numbers, as it attempts to describe condition and identify fakes. "1917 Navy #1234" tells you little other than that the gun exists. "1917 Navy #1234, unnumbered grips, mismatched magazine, replaced side-plate, refinished barrel & receiver" is far more helpful. To get all that extra information I have to be in direct contact with the owner via email, which is why I make sharing information conditional for receipt of the list.
Of course, any prospective purchaser of a Navy Luger can contact me via PM and I will be happy to tell them what is known about that particular gun, if it is listed.
Regards, Norm

So what you're saying is you will only make the list available to those who have contributed to it???

I'm not criticizing, it is your list and you're entitled to whatever conditions you deem fit, I'm just wondering if you will only send it to those you approve or if anyone can request it...

Anyone can request the Navy List, Rich. It is not free, the price is information. If you don't collect Navy Lugers, or if you do, and don't want to share information about them, you don't need the list in the first instance and don't deserve it in the second.
