Jim & Ron, IMHO the standard brass DWM commerical oiler type cleaning rod is correct for the M1906 Portugese contract and many may have been used later by the GNR, but the most correct for the GNR is the steel shaft oiler type with course knurling on cap which is usually Portugese marked (kk/10 or such in a circle).
