Here is my latest shooting creation:
A 1910 vintage slickback frame, waiting for a .30 6" barrel transplant- right now it is wearing my 1914 receiver/6" 9mm upper.

The frame at one time belonged to a police luger, it has the cut for the mag safety in the frame, the visible slot has been filled.

Just put it together yesterday, will maybe get a chance to shoot it Tuesday!

Update:
Well it rained Tuesday, so shooting postponed till Friday. Results are in and it shoots well!
Going to leave it as is for a while, as I picked up my second set of parts and decided the 6" .30 barrel belonged there instead!

Decided these parts were just too nice looking to use for my carbine project. I can't explain why such a nice pistol lost it's barrel and grips and became "parts".

So I installed the original finish, Germany marked 6" .30 bbl on this 5 digit 1920 commercial frame and receiver. Frame and receiver in original rust blue and straw also, but came with this 42 code toggle train- but it matches the finish close enough.

Anyway a nice looking shooter and one that shoots well also. No problems even with Fiocchi ammo, which I attribute to the higher velocity from the 6" vs. a 4" or 2.5" barrel!

Anyway, I'm happy enough with the way it looks, handles, and shoots!

I built this 4" 9mm shooter from a much mis-treated Bulgarian frame and a 1912 Erfurt upper a while back.
I'd forgotten I had not taken pictures of it, so I did yesterday.

The lower is re-blued and mismatched with Vopo grips that I added for shooting; the upper is an all matching 1912 Erfurt assembly. Bore is fair/good, but the combination works just fine.

One of the features is the lack of the lanyard loop at the back of the upper frame and its relocation to the base of the grip, can't be seen here because the original base lanyard loop was removed, but there are two holes in the frame for it.

The other Bulgarian features are the lack of the stock lug, and the markings in Cyrillic, in this example the Bulgarian word for fire was milled away before re-bluing. Original Bulgarian lugers have the Bulgarian crest of a rampant lion on the middle toggle and the DWM scroll moved to the top of the chamber.

O.K., I'll jump in here with Luger collection of one.

This guy has to do multiple duties since I only have one Luger (but, I am in the midst of completing a deal on a second Luger). So for now this is my do everything Luger. I have yet to shoot it, but when I eventually do, it will technically be my shooter....well sort of I guess. Pic shows the Mec-Gar mag that I just bought for it.

No ammo issue here. I've got plenty of 9mm ammo of all sorts. That darn day job and my fiancée keep demanding my time. At least that is my lame excuse and I am still with it.

I'm missing pictures of my .30 Commercial shooter and Navy shooter from my foursome (have to figure out where they are- the pictures, not the Lugers!). Anyway, they're all a lot of fun. The first is a mixed number byf41(now has VOPO grips for shooting); the second is a 1917 Artillery that is nearly all matching (all but holdopen). Bill

Here's a look at the shooter I'll likely take to the next IDPA match here. We know it started life as an LP.08, but has since been Weimar property-stamped 1920, and had its barrel changed to the 100mm on it now. It came with a former military holster that was converted to police configuration. The barrel has matching numbers--but not matching font--and a barely visible eagle 655 stamp, under salt blued finish.

This is the gun for which I seek a military marked DWM takedown lever, to replace the Erfurt lever which, curiously, is numbered 50. I've removed the matching grips for shooting and spiffed up the straw on the small parts. I'm impressed at the half-dozen proof/acceptance marks on the right side of the receiver. Can anyone add anything to its history, given the pics? I realize I have no pic yet of the front of the frame/barrel markings, nor one to show that a rear sight seems to have been added to the rear toggle link, leaving a few file marks as evidence.

Ithicaartist, I think it's great that you bring your luger to the IDPA shoots. Since bug gun went mainstream we changed your last fun stage that used to be for bug guns to the "century shooter stage" where any design more than 100 year old can be used. Fun way to show off some of the safe queens that might never see the light of day.

I'd stop looking for that #50 TD lever! The Erfurt is likely original to the rebuild of that piece, JMHO.
I'd vote for it being an un-numbered Erfurt lever that was numbered at the time of the first or second re-work/repair.

How about adding a picture of the bottom of the barrel, i.e. the markings/numbers there.?

I think I'm all caught up with the pics for this one, unless someone wants to see some of the guts. There's yet another tiny Nazi eagle, just to the right of the "8,82" on the barrel.

Where might this one stand within the spectrum of collectibility and value? I realize it's about a million miles from original condition, but its life seems to have been fairly honest, albeit varied, up until at least the Third Reich.

It was among the pistols I had appraised for the purposes of my renter's insurance. I'll reveal the results the local dealer certified, as well as what I paid for it at RIAC about 5 years ago. The dealer refused any of my input, just looked everything up in the Blue Book.

Where Erfurt parts compatable with DWM?
