1940 code 42
I had a chance to buy a 1940/42 Luger today and passed it up because it looked to be buffed and reblued. the 655 proof markings are barely readable and the safety lever and trigger looked like stainless steel the clips both had wood bottoms but no markings anywhere it has a tool with no marking and a holster with one belt loop that the stitching came loose and one wood grip had a small chip off bottom corner. I offed him 900.00 but he wanted 1000.00 now I'm second guessing if I should give him a call back tomorrow. I thought I'd run it by some of members here then go from there. whats your opinion. sorry no pictures

I agree. Magazines don't match the pistol's era, buffing and re-blue and chip all make the piece less appealing. I think $900 was very generous and significantly more than I would pay.

Don't call.
You aren't missing anything great. If HE calls back, go down to $700! JMHO.

Even without pictures I would surely agree with Don.
