Eric,

People of my generation grew up watching these b/w "monuments" of Hollywood, and John Wayne has always been one of my heroes.

Last night they were broadcasting "Nuremberg" (made in 2000) with Alec Baldwin where for a few seconds they showed some real documentary film of Nazi's concentration camps, my wife was shocked as she'd never seen anything like that, unlike me, as here they were showing films and documentaries on WWI and WWII pretty often.

Now young people seem to grow up basically ignorant... and if asked about John Wayne they probably answer "John who?"

Sergio, it strikes me that we Old School know different things. I try to maintain an advantage by picking up on as much new stuff as I have time/money for. I can use a remote control, for example, and be familiar with all its functions and options. BUT I may be the only one in the room that knows how to change channels without that handy device!

Me too,
But I think that our generation was lucky as we had the chance to adapt ourselves to several big changes, practically in any field like as an example from the ball pen, carbon paper and typewriter to the pc and the cellphone.
I don't think that younger generations are so prone to change, I remember young colleagues moaning every time the company changed something at work, and I used to thell them that I had seen much much bigger changes.

The invention of the IPAD has change our youth. I have 2 grandchildren, a boy 12 and a girl age 8. When the come over they head to our bedroom with their Ipads to get on line. Very anti social behavior~The only good part is all the school books are on line. A lot cheeper then hard bound. With texing you have no idea who they are contacting or luking. Child molesters, etc. Everthing is changing and not for the better!!!!
