Wine and truffles, I know it hasn't much to do with our Lugers, but like Lugers for us these are among the best pleasures in life!

Your grapes are harvested quite late.
Here it was in September. |

It's finished in the Finger Lakes region of NY State. We anticipate making some snowballs fairly soon.
I had a friend who owned one of the many small wineries around here. He was very frugal. After the regular pickers had departed, and the leaves were off--revealing what was left, he'd glean the vines for leftover grapes, press everything, and wind up with a blend to ferment that he called November Harvest. I don't know if his successor still makes it, but it was a great dessert wine because the grapes had by that time developed every bit of sugar they possibly could.

Beautiful video, and wonderful harvest...
This brought to mind a BBC newsreel filmed years ago of the spaghetti harvest at the Swiss / Italian border region: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tVo_wkxH9dU

Actually in about 60 years I'd never seen anybody hanging the "spaghetti"on threes to dry!! ![]() My wife sometimes makes fresh pasta and after I know that she dries it on some sort of wooden thing like the one of the picture.
