It looks to me that someone got really aggressive in removing corrosion/rust/paint/etc. I think the final work was done with either steel wool and/or very fine sandpaper.

I don't see any more scratches than usual...Still has sharp edges...

I see a lot of '59' markings...Is the serial number 9859???
Looks like patina to me..."normal" oxidation...Maybe... Price is not terribly outlandish...For everything...If it's genuine...

If the holster is in reasonable shape. tool correct and mags original, price is good. If you are looking for a collector this is not the one. Bill

From what I can see I think it looks like a nice gun, admittedly it's a bit shiny but it could be the light.
All depends on the price they ask for it. BUT you've not stated what you're really looking for: a collectible or a shooter? Maybe this Luger is an "all matching" gun but is not really a collectible, while at the same time would be a pity to use it as a shooter... Best Sergio

It looks like in their quest to remove finish they also took out the edges of the grip panels. Looks like a cold-blue job to me. But at $1000 with a WW1 holster, etc, it seems like a good price for a shooter. You could even project it; have the grips re-cut and get the gun reblued.
But it's like the others have said, it depends on what you really want, a looker or a shooter. dju |
