US Test Eagle # 6881 At Butterfield's Auction...

Thanks Pete. Didn't have 6881 on my list, so now the number of known surviving "in range" Test Eagles stands at 237, with an additional 5 "below range" and 31 "above range". I agree, the straw looks a bit "enhanced" but otherwise a nice looking gun.

The 1914 doesn't have a stock lug, but can't really tell from the photo whether it is a 1914 that has been ground or a 1908 pattern that has been misidentified as a 1914. Did you see a chamber date?
