This piece appears to be quite unusual. It rests in the higher range of the accepted 1906 serial #'s. The "loaded" on the extractor would seem to mean that it was definitely intended for the US market, making the Austrian bring back theory tenous at best. One could say that it is simply an 06 eagle without the eagle. Most of these eagles were stamped "cal 9mm" on the clip bottom, but certainly "germany" stamped ones must exist (although more common on 1920 commercials). The "HK" part of the description has got to be spurious, Jone's book doesn't show this marking. Certainly Krieghoff wasn't involved in 1906! $2500 seems to be a fair price IF it is truly original, but who can tell? Nothing like this appears in Kenyon's, Datig's or Walter's books. Anyone out there care to comment?
