Hi Glen, and welcome to the forum. Congratulations on that beautiful Swiss Luger.

I really like the Swiss guns. Both the ones that DWM shipped them and the ones that they made are remarkably beautiful pistols. The quality of workmanship is high, fit and finish is outstanding.

Your gun was privatized in 1956 (The "P" "56" mark on the receiver).

When they were privatized, the officer (often at retirement) had the option of having the arsenal restore their gun. It can be difficult to determine if condition is original or the result of this kind of work on the Swiss Lugers.

Your pistol looks excellent. I'll bet that the action feels amazing too!

If you don't have a copy, try and find Vittorio Bobba's book "The Swiss Parabellum". It's very good, and also includes English text in addition to his native Italian.

Maestro, as to price, check out what Simpson Ltd offers in Swiss Lugers to get an idea of retail values.
