I have to agree our military is probably not what it once was. However all of them are putting their lives on the line, wherever they are , and have my highest respect. Bill

Air Force hands out Expert Marksman ribbons like the Marines hand out Expert badges to officers - by the bucketfull.

According to the AF Reserve, I shot Expert over five times. That gets me a silver star on my Expert ribbon.

The last time, I shot the M16 left handed and still shot Expert.

Actually both of my daughters shot Expert when they went thru airborne. (One went on to EOD and the other to the Apache.) A son was AF and shot Expert and it helped him a lot during his 3 visits to Afghanistan. My brother-in-law taught them well.

One of my favorite Army vs. Airforce comaraderie stories which I repeated in many NCO clubs during my career on active duty in toasting the AF personnel present.

"The U.S. Air Force is simply a part of the U.S. Army Signal Corps, that we decided we didn't want, ...so in 1947 we got rid of it!"

...Which is a TRUE story!
