The so called "Guide Lamp Liberator" might have been one of the ten worst guns ever BUT in this country was one of the guns that were parachuted to the partisans. And it was quite useful after all, "any gun is better than no gun".

I agree with you both! First the ligerator allows a member of the resistance plug the enemy with a 45 slug!! The other got its bad name be equating it with Hitler. If some one built it today I would love to own one! Lugers are unfortunatly often linked to the bad guys! Nazi produced their own marked lugers and mostly Mauser although I may be wrong! Some how Kreighoff got away with out the nazi proof although their manuel would seem to differ!! Thank you both for your comments~ Input greatfully always is invited! Eric

Eric,
this time I don't really completely agree with you about this, Lugers were made several decades before the Nazi era started, then I don't believe that all the Nazis were evil people.
In my opinon Krieghoff were most of all good business people, and thanks to Goering somehow managed not to get too much involved with the Party.

Sergio, I do agree with your destinction. But there are those who label all lugers to evil! Yes all Nazis were not evil and many had no other choice. Italy really stood up and were liberated relativly early due largely to the help of the Mafia chiefs providing critical information and sabatoge. Your country scared the crap out of Hitler by hanging Musselini and his wife in a gas station in Milan. The gun makers did survive as they to were non political and made wonderful firearms that are sill used and made today~

I don't know much about Mitchell Lugers, but some years ago I took down and tested at the range at least a couple of times one of those so called "Original Luger" made by MAUSER in the seventies, and although to me it was practically without any real collectible interest I thought it was quite a good gun.
