Are you provided a written contract covering these issues? Are all auction houses the same like Rock Island Auction? Tks for setting the record straight!!!

Definitely. There is an agreement, usually printed on bidding form. Also on auctioneer's web site. Basicly saying you authorize them to charge your credit card, and if there is dispute, they are the judge.
Auction house usually is not a place to find great deal. But many collectors sell their lifetime collections via auction houses, so auctioneers do carry many nice items in each session. Some rare items seldom showing up in other places. Just like David previously mentioned, you won't find double rifles in GB. It's important for auctioneer to attract collector sellers. Have nice things to sell is very important for them. |
