There is another problem with this gun. The firing pin was a replacement. This is not a numbered part, so not a serious problem. Average C96 on US market is like this. Great ones are hard to come.

Have we tracked this Bolo??
http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/Vie...Item=456708062 The darn thing was sold $2250. No kidding!! Who's buying this.. Geez. If not sure, why not coming here consulting? free, and we swear that we won't compete for it, if you definitely want it, it's still yours ![]() That's the reason that I felt my "factory error" instance still being acceptable, at least, it's honest and cheaper. |

With the large grip frame plastic grips and short barrel barrel these are known as the French Garmine model. Most bolos have the small grip.

Around 4000 large grip short barrel were made from s/n counting. Rumor saying 1000 were French contract. So, historically, it's called "French Gendarme". Assume that's true. Other 3000 should be commercial. Just like small grip variation is called "Bolo", but it does not have to pass through Red Russian's hand to be called so. It's just a name assigned by collectors to identify this post WWI variation.
