Have you had the forearm off??? I would be interested to see how it is attached. I was reading Sturgess & Goetz last night and there was an X-ray of a carbine attaching lug which clearly showed a screw holding the carbine forearm lug in position for brazing, the head then milled/ground off...(pg 871)...
