I just got this today. Its a 1916 HOHMANN & SOHN. The overall leather condition is really nice...supple...not dried out. Its obviously been repaired, but not too badly it seems to me. Its missing the pull up strap, and the belt loops are sewn a little too tight to slip on a period German belt. I'd like those items taken care of, along with a section of the top flap which looks to have some loose stitching. The buckle tab is somewhat cracked on the outside, but it doesn't go deep. I think it would hold up well as long as someone didn't jerk it extremely hard. All in all though, it looks to me to be in pretty good shape for almost 100!

Nice looking holster.
Send it to Jerry Burney. His work is outstanding and you will never know it has been repaired. lugerholsterrepair@earthlink.net |

I lilterally got the box today. Is there anything I should do to it, such as clean it litely (as you can see there appears to be some mildew inside)? Perhaps wipe it down with something......at least until I have it worked on?

Michael, Your holster has potential to be restored properly..The mold I see is a serious problem. It is like rust..eating away at leather & thread even while you sleep..24-7.
Unfortunately it has many things wrong with bad repairs. Belt loops $65, pull-up strap, $40 and a top & bottom hinge restitch $50 at a minimum. The tool pouch likely needs restitching. The buckle assembly might need attention. A holster like this usually takes me a good two days to dismantle, clean up and hand stitch back together. The back of the magazine pouch concerns me. Something not right there. It appears that the whole holster might have been re stitched along the outside edge? Sometimes amature repairs can do a great deal of damage..
