I am trying to determine the value and how best to sell a Luger 9mm. Here is what I know about the gun: the toggle is inscribed with DWM; there is a crown over an N on the side of the frame and on the toggle; the toggle knobs are knurled; there is no grip safety or stock lug; the handles appear to be walnut, are checked with no border, and have no insignia; the gun is put in safe in the forward (Gesichert) position; there is an 82 on the rear sight, which is part of the rear toggle; 60182 is under the barrel (4"); the front side is a dovetail post; the magazine has a wooden plug and the number 971. I would estimate bluing to be 90% and grip condition to be very good; the barrel is dirty but looks good. I have a holster, but the flap has come off. Also, the former owner scratched his name on the trigger guard(ugh!)
So that's what I know. As I am new to Lugers, I will appreciate and weigh any advice you can give me. Thank you in advance! |

It's a 1908 Commercial. Photos of the "owner's"name would help.

George, a 1908 would have a digit?
Guess I better look it up

As annoying as that scribed name may be, it is part of the gun's history. Like it or not.
