Default Yet another gun for my

eclectic assortment of guns:

Sig P-210-4, one of approximately 5,000 pistols ordered by the Bundesgrenzschutz (German Border Guards) in the early 1950s:

Notice the discreet importer's markings!

I took it and my 1916 DWM Luger to the range this afternoon; both functioned flawlessly.

East German border guards? or West German border guards?

Nice gun.

Yea, those are great pistols. The mags for them look a lot like P.38 mags.

What did this cost? Do you know if more are available?

I think that Mike Zeleny may own a few of those. They are supposed to be very accurate...

They are based on the French design for the M1935a by Charles Petter and a very interesting precision handgun.

I have wanted one for quite a while. It would be great if there is a new source in the USA.

Wow Marc, if you look at the two pistols side by side the resemblence is obvious. But until you brought it up, I never made that connection before...

I have a M1935a and it's a very well designed firearm.

The completely removable action is quite innovative, and must have made maintenance and cleaning easier.

The M1935a is in that rather unusual French 7.65mm Long cartridge. The Sig is, of course, scaled up for the 9mm Parabellum.

The Swiss precision in Sig's P210 execution of this design makes it something really special.

Not that innovative after the TT30.

I can't afford to do more than dabble at Lugers. The SIG P210 is my main squeeze and constant companion.
