Most fun/comfortable to shoot in the 1k price range?

My choice on a $1,000 budget of a prewar Walther for shooting would be a moderately used Zella Mehlis PP in .22LR. Its postwar Manurhin counterpart shouldn't cost over $800 in near mint condition.
