Less than 43,965. That is, by serial number, the number of pistols in the range from the introduction of the New Model Parabellum to the last of the reports of that type. More than 776, the number of New Model American Eagles reported in the commercial database. There are 1,396 reports of models in this range other than AE. There are 1,744 entries whose type is not reported, but whose other data suggest a significant portion may be American Eagles.

Actual production records are not to be found. There is insufficient data for statistically valid extrapolation. Estimating (guessing!) the number of the remaining pistols which might be American Eagles is a hopeless and meaningless exercise.
